Government will hire three companies to evaluate diamonds

The government will hire three independent companies to classify, evaluate and determine the country's basic selling price of rough diamonds. The announcement was made this Thursday by the Ministry of Mineral Resources and Petroleum (MIREMPET).

:

In order to proceed with the procurement, the state has opened a public tender in which both national and international companies can participate. This measure aims to ensure that the prices charged for the sale of diamonds are fair and appropriate to the market in the sector.

Companies interested in participating will have to proceed with the acquisition of the parts of the procedure - the specifications and the available documentation - which will be "made available upon confirmation of payment on the basis of the request made by the interested candidate and sent to MIREMPET" to the e-mail concurso.avindepend@mirempet.gov.ao, reveals the ministry.

According to Jornal de Angola, the procedure documents will cost 1,286,850 kwanzas. This amount must be paid into the Single Treasury Account. If the interested parties are abroad and do not live in Angola they can make the payment in dollars through deposit or bank transfer to the National Treasury account. The same newspaper also reveals that in the case of non-selected companies, the price paid for the documents will not be returned.

The public act of the contest, i.e. the presentation and clarification of the contest, will take place on March 3, at the Hotel Epic Sana. The "availability and purchase of procedure pieces" will take place between March 3rd and April 5th.

Those interested, says the ministry, will have until 4pm on April 6th to submit their proposals. On the following day, the candidates will be assessed and pre-qualified.

"For further information or requests for clarification, candidates should use the above-mentioned e-mail or telephone terminals: 997 818 899 or 993 327 0670", writes MIREMPET.
