Country still has over a hundred people quarantined due to coronavirus

The health authorities lifted this Wednesday the quarantine imposed on 50 citizens, from China, who were in the Center of Barra do Kwanza. However, more than 100 people remain in isolation because of the virus.

:

The group consisted of 13 national citizens, 36 Chinese and one Brazilian, with 14 people still in the custody of the authorities.

In another center, located in Calumbo, municipality of Viana, on the outskirts of Luanda province, 92 people are under surveillance, including 37 Angolans, 50 Chinese, 12 Americans, two Canadians and one Ivorian.

According to Miguel de Oliveira, Health inspector, who took stock of the situation on COVID-19, both centers have acceptable accommodation conditions, contradicting complaints made this week about the lack of hygienic and food conditions in the center of Calumdo, published in the social networks and accompanied by photos of the place.

“All quarantined people are being treated with due humanism. It is normal for citizens to express their complaints and demand more than they have, but we are identifying the flaws in these places for proper correction ”, said Miguel de Oliveira, quoted by Angop.

The official stressed that the epidemiological situation in the country remains stable, and the reference hospital units are being equipped to ensure hospitalization and assistance in any cases.

The Covid-19 coronavirus caused 2014 deaths and infected more than 75,000 people worldwide.

Most cases occurred in China, where the new virus was detected in late 2019, in Hubei province, the most affected by the epidemic.

In addition to 2006 deaths in mainland China, two people died in the Chinese region of Hong Kong, two in Iran, one in the Philippines, one in Japan, one in France and one in Taiwan.

Chinese authorities have isolated several cities in central Hubei province to try to control the epidemic, a measure that covers about 60 million people.
