Upon arrival, according to Angop, the president of Kenya received a welcome from Esmeralda Mendonça, Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs.
The strengthening of cooperation between the two countries is nothing new, since, in October 2023, João Lourenço paid a visit to Kenya. During his trip, more than ten agreements were signed in various fields.
It should also be noted that, days before João Lourenço's visit, the first meeting of the Joint Bilateral Commission for Cooperation had been held in the Kenyan capital (Nairobi).
More or less two years after João Lourenço's visit, his Kenyan counterpart travels to Angola.
According to Angop, the two countries are focused on strengthening relations, which are based on the General Cooperation Agreement in the economic, scientific, technical and cultural sectors, celebrated in 2014, which is why in recent times they have carried out several actions in this direction.
Thus, both countries are interested in strengthening collaboration through the exploration of the various existing potentialities, with mutual benefits, especially in the political-diplomatic areas, health, agriculture, etc.
