According to a statement from the Ministry of Education, to which Verangola had access, in addition to the classrooms, the future school will also have a laboratory, library, among others.
"Around 1080 students from the municipality of Luau, in the province of Moxico Leste, will benefit from a new school with 12 classrooms, a laboratory, a library, a cafeteria and a multi-sports court, which will be built as part of the Empowerment and Learning for All Project, PAT2", the statement reads.
The Minister of Education, Luísa Grilo, witnessed the laying of the first stone.
"The act of consignment and laying of the first stone for the construction of the school that will house students in the 1st cycle of Secondary Education, in two shifts, was witnessed by the Minister of Education, Luísa Maria Alves Grilo, on the morning of this Monday, the 30th, in the municipality of Luau", the statement states.
On the occasion, the Minister of Education "appealed to the community to exercise maximum vigilance, both during the construction process and during its operation, preserving it and protecting it from any vandalism".
According to a statement from the provincial government of Moxico Leste, the future school should be ready in eight months.
"The infrastructure will be built in the Nova Organização neighborhood and will occupy a total area of 9000 square meters. The school will also have facilities such as a biology and chemistry laboratory, a library, a multi-sports field, among others", the statement reads.
Quoted in the statement, the vice-governor for the Political, Social and Economic sectors, Pedro Camilo Sapula, praised the initiative and stressed "that this is yet another achievement that could boost the desired development for the young province of Moxico Leste".
