"Our expectation is that this will be closed throughout the first quarter. The process is ongoing and there are a series of measures that must be taken", said the Secretary of State, speaking at a press conference on the update of public servants' salaries.
According to Pedro Filipe, the adjustment has not yet been put into action because it has not yet been approved by the National Assembly.
Quoted by Angop, the Secretary of State for Labor and Social Security considered that the legislative process has its own ritual, following specific steps.
Remember that, initially, this adjustment was expected to be carried out this month, as a result of an agreement reached between the government and the unions, which increases the national minimum wage for employees in general to 70 thousand kwanzas and 50 thousand kwanzas for micro-enterprises.
On Thursday, the National Director of Labor, António Estote, left the guarantee that work was underway to implement this adjustment: "We have an additional budget in the order of more than 800 billion kwanzas, which corresponds to 25 percent of the civil service wage bill", he pointed out.
"At this moment, the teams from the Ministries of Finance and Public Administration, Labor and Social Security are finalizing the definitive data on the budgetary effort that this measure will have (...). We will be in a position to make the increase", he added, quoted by Rádio Nacional of Angola (RNA).
