Angola in Times Square. Maria Borges takes on the role of tourism ambassador and promotes a campaign about Angola

Angola traveled across borders and reached the screens of Times Square, in New York, in the United States of America, through a campaign promoted by Maria Borges, model and also Angolan tourism ambassador. The campaign consisted of an advertising poster that invited anyone who passed by to visit and discover Angola.

The New York screens read "We are Angolan", the phrase highlighted on the poster, which was seen as a "direct invitation" to discover, explore, invest and fall in love with Angola.

Using her Instagram page, Maria Borges invited everyone interested to go to Times Square to see the poster on the big screens: "As Ambassador of Tourism for Angola. I am pleased to invite everyone to come to Times Square this Tuesday, 01/16/2024, to see the Billboard promotion, a direct invitation to come to Angola to Discover, Explore, Invest and Fall in Love", reads its publication.

"The world is facing difficulties and this affects us all... My country is a hopeful and receptive country in Africa", the national tourism ambassador also wrote.

It should be noted that Maria Borges, assuming the role of national tourism ambassador, started, this month, an international campaign aimed at promoting the country's tourism potential, and it was within the scope of the aforementioned campaign that the poster arrived in New York.

Maria Borges, in an interview with Public Television of Angola (TPA), made a positive assessment of the promotion of Angolan tourism in the world. "Everything is going very well. To my surprise, the first billboard came out in Times Square (...)", she said.

According to the model, everything has "to do" with her "agenda as a tourism ambassador to boost not only" Angola's tourism, but also the Dr. António Agostinho Neto International Airport, "which complements the tourist vision 100 percent".

"The idea is to continue with the billboard projects spread across the world, in the most important capitals in terms of tourism", she added.

Regarding the visits she made to some of the country's provinces, the national tourism ambassador noted that the country is prepared. "On my verification visit I was able to see that Angola is prepared and we need to help this sector that ended up being greatly affected due to the pandemic (...)".

"For the world, Angola is always with open arms, regardless of the phase we are going through and obviously with the visit of many tourists and people who want to invest, Angola will certainly be on a good path", she also said, speaking to TPA.
