Brigadier Filomena da Silva, director of the hospital unit, said that the progress of the project is going well, with April, according to Rádio Nacional de Angola (RNA), being the month indicated for the possible start of the hospital.
"They are running as expected," said the person in charge.
In terms of gains, Filomena da Silva considered that the unit "gains a new" and modern structure.
"It starts with gaining a completely new structure, a modern structure and then also gains in terms of medical equipment, we will have more modern medical equipment than what we have until now", she stated, quoted by RNA.
The hospital director also said that they have more than 30 specializations that they intend to maintain and, who knows, even add new specialties: "We have a wide range of specializations, we have around 37 different specialties, we plan to maintain and perhaps add one or another that we believe is necessary to improve medical care".
"The capacity here in this building will only be 164 beds, so we will continue with 77 beds in the Viana field hospital where we are recently," she added.
In turn, deputy Rute Mendes, president of the second committee of the National Assembly, recognized that the aforementioned hospital "is of vital importance in the functioning of the Angolan Armed Forces" (FAA).
"We recognize that the military hospital is of vital importance in the functioning of the Angolan Armed Forces with services that extend to personnel from defense and security bodies, internal order, former combatants and veterans of the country, as well as their respective families", she stated.
The deputy also said that the visit served to "find out and evaluate the level of functioning of the institution", as well as "listen" to concerns, "within the scope of the activities inherent to this hospital institution".
"We intend to have a more detailed knowledge of the works in progress, as well as the degree of physical and financial execution of the projects for this year", she added, quoted by RNA.
It should be noted that work on the hospital began in August 2021 and, according to Public Television of Angola (TPA), it is scheduled to be completed in August this year.
