Among the destinations of this product are markets such as China, Spain, Italy, Taiwan and recently the United Arab Emirates, France and Georgia, while the companies Angostone, Hipermáquinas (HM Granitos), Shalon, DFG-África and Rupsil & Filhos stand out as the ones that most exported this rock, writes Angop.
Speaking this Monday, in Lubango, Cláudio da Mata, head of the Mineral Resources department of the provincial office for Integrated Economic Development of Huíla, without mentioning the amount pocketed, informed that last year around 173 thousand cubic meters of this rock against the approximately 114,000 produced in 2021, exploited in Chibia and the Gambos.
The official, quoted by Angop, explained that with the pandemic there was greater interest from foreign markets, as traditional exporters were closed, providing more opportunities for Angola, which increased exports.
Cláudio da Mata also highlighted that the United Arab Emirates have also entered "the import race" of granite 'made in Angola', however, China remains "the main destination" for this mineral. "The United Arab Emirates have also entered the race to import Angolan granite, but even so, China is the main destination for this mineral resource, which comes mainly from Huíla province", he said, quoted by Angop.
According to the head of the Mineral Resources department of the provincial office for Integrated Economic Development of Huíla, the province of Huíla is currently the largest producer of ornamental stones in Angola, satisfying the sector with the marked growth in terms of production and exports in recent years, writes Angop.
