CFL increases train supply

The Luanda Railway (CFL) increased the offer of trains. From this Monday, January 17th, passengers will have five more daily frequencies.

CFL, in a statement posted on its Facebook page, states that it has begun "to implement a new timetable for the passenger transport service in the suburban network of Luanda, between the Bungo and Baís stations, connecting the downtown area of the city to the village of Vienna and surroundings".

The new timetable, according to the note, includes "an increase of five more daily frequencies", which, in practical terms, "mean an increase in the offer of 1,175 more seats per day and the expansion of circulation from 6 am to 7 pm".

The addition of these additional 1175 seats will enable CFL to increase the daily capacity available to 4000 passengers.

In the note, the CFL also considered that with the entry into force of these new frequencies "the tendency to cater for the mobility of the largest population flow is remarkable, with the priority in terms of the number of trains being concentrated on the connection between downtown and the municipality of Viana".

According to the company, the preventive measures against covid-19 have caused some flooding in the stations: "In recent times, with the application of restrictive measures to prevent and combat the covid-19 pandemic, there have been large floods in the stations of people looking for a place to travel".
