In a note from the President's Civil House distributed to the press, referring to the "remarkable date for the Cuban people", João Lourenço highlights the historical relations of friendship and cooperation between the two countries, maintained for several decades.
"With results that reinforced the pillars on which the important and solid achievements of our respective peoples are based", he said.
The head of state expressed his interest in continuing to strengthen the bonds of friendship and solidarity that unite the two peoples, countries and governments.
"Please accept, dear comrade, the expression of my best wishes for good health, personal well-being and much prosperity for the Cuban people," he stressed.
The Cuban Revolution was an armed and guerrilla movement that culminated in the ousting of the dictator Fulgêncio Baptista de Cuba on January 1, 1959 by the 26th of July Movement led by the revolutionary guerrilla Fidel Castro.
