On Wednesday, each dollar was worth 528.5 kwanzas, corresponding to an appreciation of 4.9 percent of the national currency compared to the beginning of the year, writes Expansão.
Since the start of the exchange rate policy in 2018, the national currency has devalued 68.6 percent against the dollar and 68.9 percent against the euro. However, the cycle has been reversed, with the national currency having recently appreciated 25.2 percent against the dollar and 33.9 percent against the euro.
It is recalled that the beginning of this week, the consultancy Fitch Solutions predicted a 15.1 percent appreciation of the national currency this year: "We anticipate that the kwanza will appreciate 15.1 percent, on average, to 514,39 kwanzas to the dollar in 2022, after a strong performance in 2021".
