Angola debuts against Mozambique in Afrobasket's second qualifying round

The national men's basketball team faces Mozambique on February 19th in the first game of the second qualifying round of Afrobasket-Ruanda 2021.

The game will take place at the Yaounde pavilion in Cameroon at 8 pm local time (same time in Angola).

On the second day, Angola will play with Kenya, on February 20. The third and final match of the group stage is scheduled for February 21, with the national team facing Senegal.

In the first round of the competition, which was played in November last year, Angola beat Mozambique by 87-58 and Kenya by 83-66. However, it lost the game against Senegal (66-51).

With two victories and one defeat, Angola occupies second place in Group B, with five points. Senegal lead the group with 6 points. Kenya is the third qualified (four points) and Mozambique comes in last with three points.

The first three teams in each group automatically qualify for the competition, which will take place in Rwanda.

It should be noted that since 1983, the Angolan team has won the Afrobasket 11 times.
