The appeal was made by the Secretary of State for Public Health moments before the daily assessment of the situation of covid-19 in the country.
Franco Mufinda stressed that the acts of vaccination in the country have always counted on the involvement of the population, based on the social mobilization made by sobas and centuries (traditional authorities), ecclesiastical and political entities, teachers and other social agents.
"It will be like this with the vaccination against covid-19, in which we will count on your support of always. We are requesting in advance your participation to this valuable act of vaccination, which will take place in our country still in this first quarter of the year", said Mufinda.
The objective of vaccination, continued the ruler, is to avoid mortality and more infected people, so "all to the vaccination, through the criteria that will be established.
About the new variants of the virus that causes covid-19, the Secretary of State stressed that it is already demonstrated that they are more virulent, between 40 and 70 percent, when compared with the strain so far known of SARS-CoV-2.
"We inform that the country has a plan of response to the pandemic, which is flexible, and from time to time it is adapted to the reality of the moment, it will also be this adaptation on the day that the country will be able to show the new variant, however, we don't want this to happen, so we must anticipate the events, work on prevention," he stressed.
Angola has a total of 17,864 positive cases, 413 deaths and 11,477 recoveries since March 2020, when it registered the first covid-19 infections.
