‘Palanquinhas’ beat Zimbabwe and are in the final of the Cosafa U-17 Cup

This Wednesday, Angola reached the final of the Cosafa Under-17 Cup, after beating its counterpart Zimbabwe by 2-0.

The 'Palanquinhas' played the semi-final at the UJ Muller Stadium, in South Africa, where the competition is being held. On the field they met Zimbabwe, an opponent who ended up being 'scrapped' from the competition by Angola.

The under-17 team's first goal was scored in the first half, with the score going into halftime marking 1-0 in favor of the 'Palanquinhas'.

In the second half, the team scored the second goal in the match, which ended 2-0, in favor of Angola.

With this victory against Zimbabwe, the under-17 team secured a place in the cup final.

"'Palanquinhas' guarantee passage to the final and classification for the category's CAN", informs the Angolan Football Federation (FAF), in a publication to which VerAngola had access.

According to the FAF, the man of the match was Omar de Jesus Gomes Oliveira.

Angola reached the semi-finals of the competition after beating Mozambique last Sunday, in a game that ended 1-0. In the group stage, Angola also faced the teams of Malawi (1-1 draw) and Lesotho (2-1 in favor of Angola).
