According to a statement from the Presidency of the Republic, to which VerAngola had access, the Brazilian minister said that the meeting served to pass on to João Lourenço a message from Brazilian President Lula da Silva about the improvement of relations between the two countries.

"When he left the meeting, approached by the press, Carlos Fávaro said that he had passed on to President João Lourenço a message from his Brazilian counterpart, Lula da Silva, regarding the increase in bilateral relations in a wide range of areas", the statement reads.

"Angola has always been a great partner of Brazil", recalled the Brazilian minister, stating that the country has always fulfilled its financial commitments to Brazil, so there is no reason not to continue with the financing lines, investments in technology, economic progress, partnerships and industrialization with Angola.

Lula da Silva's return to the position of President of Brazil will enable the resumption of a "very positive" agenda of friendly and trade relations with Angola, he pointed out, also highlighting the trip of several Brazilian delegations, including Lula da Silva, to Angola to sign agreements in various areas, and also the presence of João Lourenço at the G20 Summit, which took place in Rio de Janeiro.

He also mentioned that, over the last 50 years, Brazil has become a major producer of food products for both its population and the world.

"We find the same characteristics here in Angola, it worked in Brazil and it will work here in Angola too," he pointed out, adding: "In order for us to expand trade opportunities, President Lula determines that good trade relations are about buying and selling, technology transfer and mutual growth, so that is the message I came to bring to President João Lourenço".

It should be noted that Carlos Fávaro is in the country to strengthen agricultural relations between the two countries, as well as to participate in the Angola-Brazil Agro Forum, scheduled for this Friday.
