In presidential order no. 293/23 of December 13th, which Lusa had access to this Friday, João Lourenço argues that the measure arises due to the need to install Zip-Line (Tirolesa) leisure equipment, known as "slide" in the Miradouro da Lua requalification project, in Luanda.

Turning Miradouro da Lua, a popular tourist attraction in Angola, into a tourist product of excellence is among the authorities' objectives.

The global amount of expenses is aimed at the acquisition of leisure equipment, including the costs of support resources and equipment and fees for consultancy services for the operation of the equipment, according to the presidential order.

The Miradouro da Lua, located in the Cabo Ledo region, south of Luanda, is a geographical accident caused by millions of years of geological transformations, and one of the main postcards of Angola.

The lunar-textured cliffs are constantly changing, which makes the space dynamic, but also puts it at risk, with more than 1000 trees, shrubs and grasses having been planted to help slow the progress of erosion, since the area became be managed by the Carpe Diem hotel group.

Miradouro da Lua is a tourist stopping point on the route that goes from the capital, Luanda to Barra do Cuanza and the beaches of Cabo Ledo.
