"Our hope is that you try to manage, in the best possible way, the financial and patrimonial resources that are made available to you, to multiply them and ensure that in a few years, what you receive today will be multiplied N times, in the interest of future generations", said the head of state, who was speaking this Thursday at the inauguration ceremony of the new managers of the Sovereign Fund.
According to a statement from CIPRA, to which VerAngola had access, in his intervention, the President of the Republic also expressed confidence in the "experience" of the new managers.
"We trust in the experience of each other, but, above all, in the person of the one who is, as of today, in charge of the Sovereign Fund, who is a well-known figure, has already performed important functions in the country, and was also in an important international financial institution. Therefore, this gives us some guarantee of success in managing the Sovereign Fund, going forward," he said.
João Lourenço also mentioned that the new board is made up "of old and new administrators to maintain continuity and guarantee some renewal".
"It is the purpose of the Sovereign Fund to ensure the pillars for future generations. And, naturally, we will dedicate our efforts to ensuring that the resources available to the Sovereign Fund can be managed with a view to fulfilling this aim, without prejudice to the context present in the perspective of stabilizing the economy", said, at the time, the new president of the Board of Directors of the Sovereign Fund, Armando Manuel.
