According to a press release from the Angolan Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Mirex), the message was delivered this Wednesday, in Beijing, by the head of national diplomacy, Téte António, to the Chinese Minister of Foreign Affairs, Wang Yi.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs has been in the Chinese capital since Tuesday for a 72-hour official visit, as part of strengthening friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries.
This is a “visit with a symbolic nature as the year 2023 marks the celebration of the fortieth anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Angola and the People's Republic of China”, the note states.
According to Mirex, Beijing hosted political consultations between delegations from Angola and China, led on the Angolan side by Téte António and on the Chinese side by Wang Yi, reviewing the level of bilateral cooperation relations, with a focus on political and economic development and social, as well as strengthening and deepening bilateral cooperation and the legal framework for cooperation between the two countries.
“For more than an hour and a half, the two holders of the Sino-Angolan diplomatic portfolios also analyzed the integration process of Angola and China at a regional and international level, as well as exchanging views on the current international situation and multilateral issues”, highlights the document.
The Governments of the two countries also signed this Wednesday the Agreement on the Promotion and Reciprocal Protection of Investments to promote greater economic cooperation, stimulate the flow of capital and economic development between the two countries.
