"This meeting ends a truly historic year of engagement and partnership with Angola, which coincides with the 30th anniversary of diplomatic ties", said Tulinabo Mushingi this Wednesday, in Luanda, alluding to last week's meeting between Lourenço and Biden.

Speaking at a press conference about the results of the meeting between the two heads of state, the North American diplomat highlighted that it signaled a profound transformation in the relationship between Luanda and Washington.

"This is due, in part, to the leadership and vision of President João Lourenço and, in part, to the considerable commitment of the Biden-Harris Administration to invest in this partnership through high-level engagements, in major infrastructure and economic agreements and transversal collaboration on a series of global and regional priorities", he highlighted.

João Lourenço was received last Thursday by his counterpart Joe Biden, as part of the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

Both statesmen discussed the next steps in deepening bilateral cooperation in trade, investment, climate and energy, as well as the development of President Biden's Partnership for Global Infrastructure and Investment (PGI) for the Lobito Corridor, infrastructure railway that will connect Angola, the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRCongo) and Zambia to global markets through the Angolan port of Lobito.

Tulinabo Mushingi recalled this Wednesday the discussions between the two heads of state, saying that the meeting was an opportunity to talk about the future of the partnership, which includes, he highlighted, more than a billion dollars of investment in the transformative Lobito Corridor.

The diplomat highlighted that this is "the largest railway investment in US history in Sub-Saharan Africa", adding that, in the field of energy, the approaches point to more than 2 billion dollars in investments for projects.

He highlighted that, in the area of infrastructure, the two Presidents discussed US investment and financing "to build more than 180 bridges in rural areas of Angola".

According to the US ambassador to Angola, João Lourenço and Joe Biden also addressed the digital component, aiming to connect Angolans to the digital economy, food security and regional security.

"President Biden praised President Lourenço's diplomatic leadership, including work toward peace in eastern DRCongo," he noted.

"This extraordinarily successful meeting between the Presidents of the US and Angola reflects the Biden Administration's commitment to involving our African partners in our common priorities", concluded Tulinano Mushingi.
