The information was transmitted to the press by the head of the Health sector this Wednesday in Luanda, at the end of a field visit to verify the level of execution of works in two health units.
The Viana General Hospital is 90 percent physically complete and is in the final phase of its infrastructure, said the minister. "We have the contractor's guarantee that by the end of February we will have this unit complete," she said. She also stated that it is also necessary to "carry out the necessary tests in preparation for its inauguration in April 2024."
On the other hand, the minister recommended a stronger dynamic for the completion of works on the Cacuaco General Hospital, which is approximately 80 percent completed, and is scheduled to open in April next year.
These two third-level health units will reinforce the health system in the province of Luanda, with emphasis on pediatric care, says the Ministry of Health in a statement to which VerAngola had access.
"Half of the 300 beds are pediatric", assured the minister, who guaranteed the purpose "is to respond to medium and high complexity pediatric care in the province of Luanda".
