João Baptista Borges guarantees that Chitembo will have more water and energy

The Minister of Energy and Water, João Baptista Borges, left guarantees that the municipality of Chitembo, in Bié, will have more water and more energy, having indicated that within two years the municipality will have “24 on 24 energy” putting an end to to “constant power outages”. In the field of water, according to the government official, the water supply system will be ready within three months and will be capable of generating 1900 household connections.

Speaking as part of a visit to the municipality this Thursday, the minister also said that the communes are not forgotten either.

"João Baptista Borges assured that within two years the municipality of Chitembo will have 24/24 energy, a fact that will put an end to the constant power failures in the municipality and the communes will not be forgotten with the installation of generator sets", reads one statement from the Government of the Province of Bié, to which VerAngola had access.

Regarding water supply, João Baptista Borges informed that "the water supply system will be completed within three months and will have capacity for 1900 household connections and a further 25 fountains".

The holder of the Energy and Water portfolio also said that they will work on the rehabilitation of systems that do not work, as well as on solving Chitembo's problems related to the sector he oversees.

"We will rehabilitate the systems that are not working and continue to work on resolving the Chitembo municipality's problems linked to energy and water" he stated.

"We will increase access to water and energy because water is life and energy is development" concluded the government official.

"On behalf of the population of the province of Bié, governor Pereira Alfredo expressed his satisfaction to the Ministry of Energy and Water for the investments in the sector at the level of the province of Bié, in order to continue improving the living conditions of the populations", reads in the statement.

The governor also said that the best way to "honor these investments is to continue raising awareness among the population about the preservation of public assets and the culture of reporting offenders".
