According to the Secretary of State for Finance and Treasury, Ottoniel dos Santos, of the 1.2 billion kwanzas, 599 billion kwanzas have already been delivered, with 422 billion kwanzas yet to be received.

This year, highlighted Ottoniel dos Santos, six companies were privatized, and auctions are taking place for a set of assets, such as the "Poupa Lá" chain stores, two industrial units in the Special Economic Zone and the Catete silos.

Ottoniel dos Santos, who was speaking to the press at the end of the Propriv National Interministerial Commission meeting, said that the meeting, the last in 2023, served to take stock of what was the entire privatization program, in terms of revenue commitments, values already transferred both to the State and to the units representing the State in the units sold.

The Secretary of State for Finance and Treasury stressed that more than 2000 jobs were created by Propriv and another 1000 preserved.

According to Ottoniel dos Santos, a group of assets were identified that, "if in a suitable condition, can see their privatization moment brought forward to give some speed to the program".

"We will also see a competition being launched throughout 2023 that has to do with the units that are in the province of Cabinda and will also be undergoing privatization on December 8th. The process will be launched at that time", he said.

The government official said that, although the program began at an adverse time, with the covid-19 pandemic, the results achieved are still satisfactory, because it managed to reach this point, after renewing the privatization process, in March this year, with 78 assets already privatized.

"What is still missing, from the point of view of what assets are to be privatized, are those that we perceive to be assets that are or will be privatized using more laborious procedures. We are talking about an initial public offering on the stock exchange, we are talking about an auction in scholarship and we are also talking about public competitions", he highlighted.

The Secretary of State for Finance and Treasury also announced that 39 hotel facilities will be introduced into the privatization process, to respond to the expectation of dynamization of the tourism sector and the increase in market demand.

These are hotel units spread across several provinces of the country, according to Ottoniel dos Santos, who mentioned the AAA chain hotels, which will become part of the privatization program, under the commission's proposal for Propriv.

In March of this year, the President, João Lourenço, extended Propriv for another three years, for the sale of 73 new assets and State shares, until 2026.
