According to a communiqué from CFL, to which Lusa had access, circulation between Luanda, Kwanza Norte and Malanje was restored with two freight trains to the last two provinces.

The suspension of circulation for 10 days was due to work on the construction of two bridges under the platform of the railroad for the drainage of rainwater, the National Road 230, the statement said.

For Wednesday, it is planned to resume fuel transport trains to the province of Malanje.

"The construction of the aforementioned hydraulic crossings at the 36+600 and 37+100 kilometric points, respectively, began on the 11th and was carried out by technicians and specialists from CFL, who through their experience made it possible in record time to carry out an engineering work of that size," reads the document.

Although finishing work is still in progress, the trains can run with the necessary safety, guarantees CFL, which highlights the involvement in the work of about 20 employees assigned to the track subdirection.

The CFL, inaugurated in 1909, has an extension of 460 km and links Luanda to the provinces of Kwanza Norte and Malanje.
