BNA changes limits for withdrawals, payments and transfers at ATMs

The Banco Nacional de Angola (BNA) has changed the limits for cash withdrawals, payments and transfers at ATMs, rules that will come into force from January 9.

According to the instruction that changes the value limits in operations performed in payment systems, published on the BNA website, the maximum daily limit of withdrawal and transfer of money at ATMs and Automatic Payment Terminals (TPA) is increased from 50 to 60 thousand kwanzas.

The maximum daily value of payments at Multicaixa (automatic teller machine) by card, is set at 19,999,999.99 kwanzas, except in payment operations for the Ministry of Finance and the National Institute of Social Security which may go up to 99,999,99 kwanzas.

The maximum daily value for transfers initiated by card is fixed at five million kwanzas while the maximum daily value for purchases at Automatic Payment Terminals (TPA) is now six million kwanzas.

The maximum value per operation for transfers made in the Credit Transfer System (STC) is set at 19,999,99 kwanzas, with operations relating to the Ministry of Finance being exempt from this limit, namely the payment of civil service salaries and the payment of the State to its suppliers and the operations of the National Institute of Social Security, namely payments to suppliers and payments relating to social benefits.

The maximum value for issuing a standard cheque is set at 9,999,99 kwanzas, and cheques issued for amounts exceeding the established limit will not be accepted.
