Dog bites killed 60 people in Luanda from January to December

At least 60 people died in Luanda from January to the second half of December 2019 as a result of angry dog bites, officials said, which plans to vaccinate by January three hundred thousand animals.

Cited by the press, Luanda's provincial director of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries, João Catinda, pointed to the need to prevent bites through rabies vaccination and called for adherence to the vaccination campaign that began on Monday.

The municipalities of Cacuaco, Viana, Kilamba Kiaxi, Cazenga and the urban district of Maianga lead the occurrences, according to statistics from the capital's Veterinary Services.

At the opening of the campaign, which takes place under the motto "Vaccinated Animal, Protected Family", Luanda Governor Luther Rescova urged the municipal administrations to pay special attention to the campaign, due to the large incidences at the family level.
