Wheat and meat among the most imported goods in the first quarter of 2021

The list of most imported goods, in the first three months of this year, is led by wheat, followed by meat. According to a statistical bulletin from the Angolan Cargo Certification and Logistics Regulatory Agency, in the first quarter of 2021, more than one million tons of goods were handled.

According to a bulletin quoted by Jornal de Angola, among the ten most imported products are wheat and a mixture of wheat with rye, with 10 percent, fresh meat and poultry offal, as well as containers for transporting fluids and pork meat, with five percent.

The list also includes corn, granite and other stones, with three percent, and rice, sugar and fertilizers, with two percent.

In the same period, Nile & Victoria General Trading Lda were the companies that registered the highest volume of certified cargo for import, with more than 205 million tons. Highlights include Cart Empreendimentos SA, Moagens de Angola, Falco and Baker Petrolite.

These companies, according to the bulletin, were responsible for more than 30 percent of the cargo certified for import.

More use was made of the Chinese market to import, representing around 14 percent of imported goods. Also highlight the market in Brazil, Portugal and France (five percent), writes Jornal de Angola.

Exports were led by Turkey, with 9200 tonnes. Portugal comes in second (5000 tonnes), followed by China (3000 tonnes).
