For the FPU, 2021 is the year in which, at the political level, the regime's maneuvers were seen with a view to "the assassination of multi-party democracy and the impracticability of any guarantees for the alternation in the exercise of power".
The FPU's position is expressed in its joint statement presented this Thursday at the ceremony to relaunch this political-electoral platform in the opposition formed by the National Union for the Total Independence of Angola (UNITA), the largest opposition party, by the Democratic Block (BD ) and for the political project PRA JÁ Serving Angola.
The leaders of this front, namely Adalberto da Costa Júnior, president of UNITA, Filomeno Vieira Lopes, president of the BD and Abel Chivukuvuku, coordinator of PRA JÁ Servir Angola, signed this Thursday this declaration to relaunch this political entity.
According to the FPU, the Angolan regime "captured and placed exclusively at its service all the justice organs, with particular emphasis on the higher courts, captured and restrained all public media organs and almost all the private ones with any relevance".
The regime "shamelessly violates the elementary right to plural information that the Constitution of the Republic of Angola enshrines for all citizens", reads the statement presented at this ceremony.
The power "made the Constitutional Court its privileged instrument to, against the Constitution and other laws, absolutely prevent the emergence of other political party organizations such as PRA JÁ Servir Angola".
And, at the same time, he says, "it declared, through the same Constitutional Court, a real and gigantic war to implode UNITA, the largest opposition party with the real vocation, possibilities and capabilities to democratically assume power".
The United Patriotic Front, which proposes to win the August 2022 general elections, was proclaimed in Luanda on October 5, 2021.
Its re-launch follows the holding of the XIII Ordinary Congress of UNITA, held from December 2 to 4 in Luanda, imposed by a decision of the Constitutional Court that annulled all the deliberations of the 2019 conclave and removed Adalberto da Costa Júnior, elected from the leadership, however, at this December congress.
This Thursday, in the act of its relaunch, in Luanda, the FPU also considered 2021 as the year of continuity of the economic crisis, referring that, "as a direct consequence of the unpatriotic political posture, the regime forgot what was essential for the country and for the State".
"Sustainable economic development aims, in the first place, to satisfy people's basic needs. In fact, the regime made a simulation of investing in agriculture, but was not able to implement a general plan that would ensure, at least, the flow of the few products of the peasants", he emphasizes.
In the view of the FPU, the Angolan regime "created obstacles" to the development of the business class, having adopted the "corrupt practice of bypassing public contracting rules favoring business groups, as well as acquaintances linked to executive personalities to the detriment of the majority".
According to this political platform in the opposition, in 2021, the Angolan regime made the practice of illicit enrichment more sophisticated, in a year in which it also considers that there has been an "increase in the degradation of the social and living conditions of the population".
Deplores the scenario of hunger and poverty "which have dramatically installed in the country" among the overwhelming majority of the population and criticizes the current teaching and learning process and investments in health in Angola, considering them as "simulative criminals".
The year 2022 for the FPU is the year of "renewing hopes", in which the platform must interact with all social, political and religious sensibilities in the country to "prevent the announced assassination of multi-party democracy".
"We renew before Angola and Angolans our solemn commitment to work for our country and for Angolans with responsibility, sensitivity, patriotism, humility and vision", the statement said.
