According to a note from the Civil House of the President of the Republic, João Lourenço was also recognized for his commitment to issues of development and stability on the African continent.
The diploma that distinguishes the President was handed over to the Secretary of State for International Cooperation and Angolan Communities, Domingos Custódio Vieira Lopes, at a gala recently held in the city of Dakar, capital of the Republic of Senegal.
"The acknowledgment of the action of President João Lourenço in favor of Africa was made by the Forum of Operators for the Guarantee of Economic Emergency in Africa (Fogeca), which every year decorates a head of State in Dakar", indicates the note.
The event, one of the most prestigious acts on Senegal's public agenda, was attended by ministers from several African countries, economic operators and representatives of civil society, with more than 800 guests representing 17 African countries.
João Lourenço awarded the African Integration Prize
The head of state was awarded the African Integration Prize, in recognition of his role as president of the International Conference for the Great Lakes Region (CIRGL).
