MPLA Honor Council integrates José Eduardo dos Santos

According to the final communiqué of the meeting led by the president of the Popular Movement for the Liberation of Angola (MPLA), João Lourenço, 17 members are part of the Political Bureau secretariat.

The organ's secretary for Organization and Insertion in Society, Jorge Dombolo, secretary for Economic Policy, Idalina Valente, secretary for Social Policy, Maricel Capama, secretary for State Reform, Public Administration and Local Authorities, Mário Pinto de Andrade , and Secretary for Information and Propaganda, Rui Falcão.

João de Almeida Martins "Jú" is the secretary for Political and Electoral Affairs, Manuel Augusto, the secretary for Foreign Affairs, Ângela Bragança, secretary for Staff Policy, Pedro Neto, secretary for Former Combatants and Veterans of the Homeland.

The secretariat is also composed of Carla de Sousa, secretary for Administration and Finance, Virgílio de Fontes Pereira, president of the parliamentary group, Maria Antonieta Baptista, coordinator of the Discipline and Audit Committee of the Central Committee, Joana Tomás, general secretary of the OMA [the party's women's organization], and Crispiniano dos Santos, first national secretary of the JMPLA [the party's youth organization].

The communiqué underlines that the Political Bureau reiterated its unconditional support for the executive led by João Lourenço, highlighting the social perspective of the State Budget for 2022, "which elected the fight against poverty, the promotion of social inclusion and investment in human capital , especially in the education, health and social protection sectors, as pillars of the country's integral development".

This was the first ordinary session of the Political Bureau of the MPLA elected at the VIII ordinary congress of the MPLA, held last week, between Thursday and Saturday, re-electing João Lourenço as party leader for a second term.
