João Lourenço, in a congratulatory message sent to the President of the UAE, Khalifa Bin Zayd Al Nahyan, expressed "appreciation" for "the progress achieved by that country in these five decades of recent history".
For the statesman, the authorities of the United Arab Emirates "were able in this period to turn the country, in a short period of time, into a global reference of modernity and successful achievements in the economic, social, technical and technological fields".
"I take this opportunity to express our satisfaction with the high level of cooperation relations existing between our two countries, which, I am convinced, will be continually deepened due to the common interest expressed in the multiple contacts that our two Governments have regularly maintained ", can be read in the message.
The President of the Republic also wished to wish "good health, personal well-being and prosperity" for the people of the UAE.
