The factory will start to be built in the second half of next year, in an area of 1700 square meters and will be able to process 500 tons of lead per day.
According to Glória Simão Lutumba, chairman of the Board of Directors of Glofack Comercial (company responsible for the contract), the factory should generate around 1500 direct jobs.
"The space given to us guarantees the implementation of the project in terms of raw material, and certainly that the factory will contribute to the country's economic diversification," said Glória Simão Lutumba, in statements to Angop.
Glória Simão Lutumba indicated that the second stage of the project, which will include a partnership with the company Golden Fortune Miner Services, assumes the production of equipment that includes lead, such as batteries, antennas, among others.
However, for now, the CEO of Glofack Comercial clarified that the work will focus on the implementation of shipyards and opening accesses to the factory site.
It also revealed that part of the lead produced will be exported abroad, especially to China and the United Arab Emirates, writes Angop.
Glória Simão Lutumba considered that this factory will help to reduce unemployment levels and stimulate economic development in that area.
