The works, part of the Integrated Plan for Intervention in Municipalities (PIIM), started this Monday, and it is estimated that they will be completed in half a year.
The hospital unit, which was partially destroyed during the armed conflict, is installed in a space of 20,600 square meters and is capable of housing 100 patients.
According to Angop, the hospital will have services in orthopedics, pediatrics, maternity, among others. It will also have an operating room and laboratory for clinical analysis.
António Mussumari, municipal administrator of Lóvua, considered that the project will help to improve health services in that area.
Quoted by Angop, he admitted that when the hospital starts operating it will prevent people from having to travel long distances to access specialized services.
