This is the 'pipeline' that links the installation of fuel at Boavista 5 to the 4 de Fevereiro international airport, with the works costing 2.2 million dollars, according to the chairman of the board of directors of the National Fuel Society of Angola (Sonangol), Sebastião Martins.

"With this project, we are going to make savings in the order of 3.2 million dollars a year, which represents an opportunity for us to invest these resources that we will save in other areas where our distribution and marketing unit is in great need," said Sebastião Martins, in statements to the press.

According to the chairman of the Board of Directors of Sonangol, the entire repair phase was estimated at around 2.2 million dollars.

"Before we had to use around 84 vehicles, traveling around the city, now we are able to fill one of these tanks here at our aero-installation of around 2.5 million liters in around 13 hours, which is a huge savings, because before, it took us between three and four days to fill an aero-installation of this type", he said.

At the same ceremony, the minister of Mineral Resources, Oil and Gas, Diamantino de Azevedo, said that the implementation of this project constitutes a milestone for the transport of JET A1 in the country, as it will reduce the number of trucks for supply of fuel, as well as operating costs associated with road transport.

"On the other hand, it should be noted that this project confirms our desire and ambition to ensure that our operations are in line with the best practices used in the industry", he stressed.

Diamantino de Azevedo stressed that Sonangol's current challenges, as the main operator in the 'downstream' segment, and the completion of structuring projects such as this one "confirm the executive's real commitment to the modernization of facilities, as one of the pillars of the restructuring of the Angolan oil sector".
