"There is still a long way to go, many rough edges to smooth out and paths to clear. However, we are comforted by the idea that we are not walking alone. The Executive's commitment to the transformative power of tourism is galvanizing civil society. There is a growing mobilization of various segments of society, from businesspeople and managers to local communities, to enhance the tourism potential of our country", said the minister, when giving the closing speech at the 1st edition of the Forbes Annual Summit, held in Luanda between the 20th and 21st of this month and in which, at the invitation of Forbes Lusophone Africa, the Ministry of Tourism participated.

The second and final day of the meeting, according to a statement from the Ministry of Tourism, to which VerAngola had access, had the afternoon dedicated to the conference 'Tourism: the transformative power in Angola', whose main speaker was the businessman Soud Ba'alawy, founder of the Enspire Group, "with over 30 years of experience in banking, investments and organizational transformation, one of the visionaries behind Dubai's tourism success".

On the occasion, the businessman indicated "guidelines that he considers essential for Angola to develop as a tourist destination".

According to Soud Ba'alawy, if the country wants to invest in tourism, it needs to "define a strategy that can be shared by all ministries".

"If Angola wants to invest in tourism, it needs to define a strategy that can be shared by all ministries. Share objectives, work together, according to a holistic vision. And it is with this that they can achieve something in tourism", said the businessman.

"Transport and hospitality, which are direct contributors to tourism, were also highlighted during the event, and were discussed from the perspective of the various current challenges and solutions underway through the vision of TAAG representatives, as well as national and international businesspeople and tour operators", the statement reads.

The event also included a one-to-one conversation, where the general director of INFOTUR (Institute for Tourism Development), Lukeni Araújo, shared with those present the "main strategies being developed by the institute, with a view to promoting Angola as a destination".
