Every year, Abu Dhabi becomes the meeting point for major investors in the sector, and being here means being where the main decisions are made.”

ANPG's presence in Abu Dhabi aims to strengthen ties with international investors and explore new opportunities in the Angolan market. “We have meetings scheduled with several investors, including some of those already operating in Angola. Participating in ADIPEC allows us to debate both Angola's energy scenario and global energy trends.
sector”, also highlights the PCA of ANPG, in a statement sent to VerAngola.

Paulino Jerónimo also emphasizes the message that ANPG takes to ADIPEC: “Angola continues to be an attractive destination for investments. We are making adjustments to oil legislation to facilitate and attract more capital. Our message is simple: come, invest, and we will be by your side to overcome any challenges.”

ANPG highlights the opportunities in permanent offer blocks and in upcoming tenders: “We are concluding the onshore tender initiated last year and plan to launch a new round in 2025, including previously explored concessions. Additionally, there are opportunities in marginal fields that may be attractive to diverse investors. Angola is prepared to make the necessary changes to safeguard the interests of investors”, he assures.

Regarding the next steps, the ANPG PCA reveals that the national concessionaire is developing the 2026-2030 strategy. “We have already started discussions with the Ministry of Mineral Resources, Oil and Gas and are considering several scenarios. We will soon present the new bidding strategy for this period”, he states.

During the opening ceremony of ADIPEC 2024, Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, UAE Minister of Industry and Advanced Technologies, highlighted the role of industry within the scope of three global megatrends: the rise of emerging markets, the growth of artificial intelligence (AI ) and the transformation of energy systems.

He highlighted that facing these changes requires “unprecedented cross-sector integration to accelerate sustainable growth”. “We are entering a new era marked by three megatrends: the growth of the global south, the evolution of energy systems and the exponential development of AI. These megatrends bring with them opportunities that require corresponding solutions,” said Al Jaber.

The minister also emphasized the importance of “targeted investments, improvements in energy infrastructure and enabling policies” to unlock the potential of these transformations. He also added that ADNOC has embraced these trends, focusing on initiatives to “future-proof, decarbonize and create long-term sustainable value.”

ANPG's participation in ADIPEC 2024 reinforces Angola's commitment to maintaining an active dialogue with international investors, creating an environment conducive to investment and consolidating its position as a relevant actor in the international energy scenario.
