At the hearing - held on the sidelines of the 'Africa Energy Week' conference, taking place in Cape Town (South Africa) - the parties spoke about aspects relating to Petrobras' return to Angola, which they "considered to be of mutual interest for this to happen", points out the Ministry of Mineral Resources, Oil and Gas, in a statement to which Verangola had access.
At the meeting, says the guardianship note, it was agreed that Petrobras "continues to evaluate opportunities in Angola that is on its radar".
On the occasion, Diamantino Azevedo presented ongoing activities in the field of hydrocarbons in the country, with emphasis on the "ammonia project, phosphate reserves and potassium anomalies, green hydrogen project, cooking gas", among others.
It is worth noting that an Angolan delegation, headed by Diamantino Azevedo and made up of executives from the National Oil, Gas and Biofuels Agency (ANPG) and Sonangol, is in South Africa to participate in 'Africa Energy Week'.
The minister's agenda, during the conference, includes several hearings with officials from oil and energy companies, such as Lukoil and Equinor.
In addition, the holder of the Mineral Resources, Oil and Gas portfolio must also "participate in the conference's thematic panels", such as "Unlocking's deepwater E&P Know-How"; "Investment in Angola Energies", which will be followed by a round table, as well as the "ExxonMobil Africa STEM Challenge" panel.
For this Tuesday, the agenda foresees that Diamantino Azevedo will speak at the conference, as well as visits to ANPG exhibitions and energy companies operating in Angola.
After Cape Town, the government official "will preside, on November 6, in Johannesburg, the 'Mining Investment Forum', which will bring together mining companies and mining service providers", points out the note.
