According to Angop, the national duo's achievement of a place in Paris came after they won the 500 meter final, in a race held in Abuja, Nigeria, where the African Canoeing Championship and respective Olympic qualifications take place.
The national commission in Nigeria is made up of eight members, including six athletes, a coach and a head of delegation.
César Fidalgo takes on the role of coach, while Pemba Domingos leads the team.
According to the Angolan Nautical Sports Federation (FADEN), in a note to which VerAngola had access, Avelino de Almeida heads the paracanoe.
In addition to the canoeing duo – already qualified for the Olympics –, athletes Jairo Domingos, Lucrécia Gomes and Simão Camazulo will also take part in kayaking.
"The main objective of this participation is to try to get a place in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games", says the federation.
In the event, which runs until next Monday (27 November), 15 African countries are taking part, along with Angola, according to Jornal de Angola.
Remember that Angolans were already present at the 2008 and 2012 Olympic competitions, in Beijing and London.
It is also worth noting that the country will take women's handball and rowing to Paris, on a list that is now joined by canoeing.
