On the occasion, the pilot said it was a "great honor" and also "a huge privilege to return" to Angola, where he has the opportunity to see family and friends.
"A great honor and for me it is also a huge privilege to return. Due to my career and travel, I don't have much opportunity to be in Angola during the year, so being able to come back and see family, friends and be in this space is very important for me and, because we are celebrating the World Cup title, it is even more special", he said, quoted by Rádio Nacional de Angola (RNA).
Regarding plans for the future, Rui Andrade was ready to embrace a "new challenge".
"At the moment there are many possibilities for next year. We still don't have anything concrete, we are already talking to some teams", he indicated.
"Certainly my objective is to stay in the world championship. Obviously leaving LMP2 makes things a little more difficult, but in any case I knew I had to take a step in my career next year, after already being champion in LMP2, so, I certainly want a new challenge, at the same time I will continue to discuss the world championship, whether it be in another category, but for now nothing has been decided", he added.
Quoted by RNA, the driver also said that his "goal is to continue at the highest level of motorsport and continue to represent Angola in the best possible way".
In turn, Manuel Homem said it was a "very strong message for all Angolans", especially for young people that "they should not give up on their dreams".

On the occasion, the provincial governor highlighted the pilot's efforts and reiterated GPL's support for "all young people" who are "dedicated to doing things and doing them well".
"Rui Andrade dreamed, he believed, he fights every day, he is there, he became world champion and we as the Provincial Government of Luanda will also continue to give all our support, not only to Rui Andrade, but to all young Angolans in the province from Luanda and not only who are dedicated to doing things and doing them well", he said, quoted by RNA.
