Country will have visa issuance point for Chinese businesspeople who want to invest in Angola

A visa issuing post will be set up in the country, close to the Angola-China Chamber of Commerce, with a view to supporting the processing of this process for Chinese businesspeople who are interested in investing in Angola.

According to the general director of the Migration and Foreigners Service (SME), main migration commissioner João António da Costa Dias – who was speaking, this Thursday, at the opening session of the workshop "Refreshing the Migration Law and Investment Opportunities in Angola ", promoted by the Angola-China Chamber of Commerce - "the installation of an SME Service Point in the Integrated Business Support Center of the Angola-China Chamber of Commerce is underway".

Quoted in a statement from the SME, to which VerAngola had access, the person responsible guaranteed that this post will provide "greater speed in the processing of processes for granting migratory acts, namely visas and residence permits, to businesspeople and investors associated with that commercial board".

On the occasion, he recalled that, recently, the Government, with a view to promoting "mechanisms that facilitate the entry of immigrants", determined a "new exemption regime and simplification of procedures for granting tourist visas".

"Recently, the Angolan Government, aiming to promote mechanisms that facilitate the entry of immigrants, who have proven to contribute significantly to the country's development, established a new exemption regime and simplification of procedures for granting tourist visas, with a view to greater business prospecting and the promotion of the tourism industry in Angola", he said, quoted in the statement.

Luís Cupenala, president of the Angola-China Chamber of Commerce (CAC), highlighted that the "installation of the new SME service point at the CAC Integrated Business Support Center represents the success of meeting the needs of our members in the field migration, as well as, will in a certain way stimulate the creation of more companies", reads the statement.

At the workshop, according to the statement, topics were discussed about National Migration Legislation, which was presented by the Director of the Legal Office of the SME, deputy commissioner of migration Huguete de Oliveira, as well as Business Opportunities in Angola, "discussed by representatives of the Zone Special Economic Agency, National Agency for the Management of the Okavango Region and the Barra do Dande Integrated Development Free Zone, respectively".
