Standard Bank of Angola launches subsidiary for financial intermediation

Standard Invest (SI), the most recent subsidiary of Standard Bank of Angola, was officially presented to the market. The company's main objective is to provide Financial Intermediation, Brokerage and Custody Services, with private clients and companies, with the Capital Market Commission (CMC) as its regulatory entity.

Standard Invest is headquartered in Luanda, however its services are available throughout the national territory, through digital channels.

“The Standard Invest brand was born with the determination to promote the democratization of access to financial markets for Angolans. Our vision is to be the reference partner in the Angolan capital market, delivering financial solutions that allow us to sustainably achieve the objectives and ambitions of all our clients”, said Dinis Mendes, CEO of Standard Invest, in a statement sent to VerAngola .

SI has a team of “highly qualified staff, with proven experience in the Angolan market, who stand out in operations in the capital market, combined with a strong power of origination, syndication and placement, in a diversified and broad base of investors in Africa , in Europe, the Middle East, Asia and the Americas”, revealed the CEO, highlighting that it was the first team to issue corporate bonds on the stock exchange and sell a company on the stock exchange.

The difference that SI brings to the Angolan market is, therefore, its experience in successful investment management, aligned with best international practices, promoting the democratization of access to financial markets for Angolans and guaranteeing solutions tailored to customer needs, he adds the document.

The subsidiary thus intends to be a strategic partner for companies with the ambition of entering the national capital market, through the provision of Corporate Finance solutions, Financial Intermediation, Strategic Consulting, access to the bond capital market, as well as the equity market.

In the words of Yonne Castro, chairman of the SI Board of Directors, the company “arises from what was an important milestone in the Angolan financial system, with the transition of the financial intermediation process, to securities distribution companies, fully regulated by the Securities and Exchange Commission. Capital market. A milestone that certainly did not go unnoticed by international markets, being another step towards better and greater attraction of non-resident investors, but also towards giving greater confidence to local investors, thus contributing to the diversification of their investment portfolio”.
