According to a note published on the Euromoney website, the award for “Best bank with digital solutions in Angola” is due to the fact that BAI offers a diversity of digital products in comparison
with national competition, which includes digital integration, instant microcredits, QR code payments and international transfers, with the Bank's success in migration also highlighted
from customers to digital platforms.
When awarding the “Best bank for small and medium-sized companies in Angola” award, Euromoney took into account the growth of the SME customer segment, which in the first half of 2023 registered 88
584 customers.
In the first half of 2023, 3 billion kwanzas were disbursed for this segment, through the contracting of 34 new credit operations, totaling 294 projects financed in the portfolio, in the amount
of 24 billion kwanzas.
In relation to the two distinctions, the president of the BAI Executive Committee, Luís Lélis, reaffirmed that “BAI will maintain its commitment to innovation in payment methods and electronic channels, aligned with a strong
commitment to digital and financial literacy” and also recognized “the need to continue contributing to the growth of the SME segment, which is a fundamental driver of economic diversification and the
country’s growth.”
