Grupo Caetano invests one million dollars and is the new representative of Renault Trucks in Angola

The Salvador Caetano Group has become the official importer and distributor of Renault Trucks in Angola, an investment of over 1 million dollars that relaunches the French brand in the country.

:

The distribution contract, via Caetano Angola, was signed last January and its implementation represents an investment of more than one million euros (roughly the same amount in dollars), half of which was used to build and equip the facilities for house the after-sales service and specialized workshops in Luanda.

"The first expectation is to satisfy people who are already customers of Renault Trucks, we know that there was an interregnum here, and we want to recover and make other customers, and we hope that people feel that Renault is here with them again", he said today managing director of the Caetano Angola Group, Fernando Leite.

Speaking at the official presentation ceremony of the French brand, Fernando Leite estimated the sale of around 50 trucks in 2023, admitting, however, that the goal would be difficult, despite the experiences that the company brings to Angola.

Having Renault Trucks present in all provinces of Angola is also one of the goals of Caetano Angola, whose managing director says he is prepared to live with competition, especially from China.

"We have to live together, it's the market, they are there, we have to do our best, we gain market share and if we do a better job, we have a better product", replied Fernando Leite to Lusa.

The vice-president of Renault Trucks Africa, Cyril Barrile, expressed satisfaction with the return of the French brand to Angola, a market "whose growth potential is encouraging".

"We believe that together we will go far in the partnership that we present here today and that the investment made by both parties will have a positive return", underlined the French investor.

The Minister of Transport, Ricardo de Abreu, who also attended the event, highlighted the importance of the presence in the country of different manufacturers of reliable vehicles, especially for the transport of goods.

Road freight transport "is a crucial issue for the economic development of all countries and we think it is very important for us too, in having a partner like that returning and investing in our country in a quality service", he stressed.

"The road transport of goods in Angola has a very significant weight and, obviously, we need vehicles that are viable, reliable and safe also to promote the reduction of accidents on the roads", concluded Ricardo de Abreu in statements to journalists.
