Senior women's national team debuts with victory in the Handball CAN

Angola went on to win the African Cup of Nations (CAN) in Handball. The senior women's national team of the modality debuted with a victory in the competition, beating Algeria by 29-17.

The opening game took place this Thursday, November 10, in Senegal - host country of the competition that takes place from November 9 to 19.

The match went to halftime with the national team leading the scoreboard. Angola ended the first half with an eight-point lead (13-5).

In the end, the national team emerged victorious, having won the Algerian counterpart by 29-17.

It should be noted that the Angolan Isabel Guialo won the MVP (most valuable player) award.

In the championship, Angola belongs to group A, which includes Algeria, the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and Cape Verde.

The next game of the national team is scheduled for this Sunday, November 13, against Cape Verde. The team's last game in the preliminary round takes place next Monday, November 14, against DRC.
