NGO Mosaiko invites Africans to think about Africa in Luanda

The Angolan civic organization Mosaiko-Instituto para a Cidadania promotes an international conference next week in Luanda that will bring together African academics, philosophers, economists, activists and artists to reflect on the continent.

:

The conference is part of the commemoration of the 25th anniversary of Mosaiko and will take place on the 15th and 16th of November in the university extension building of the Catholic University, in Luanda.

"Its objective is to bring together African men and women who contradict the global vision of Africa and encourage critical thinking in order to make every African woman and man the protagonists of their vision, ideas and history", summarizes the human rights organization in a statement. .

For Mosaiko, the conference "has special importance for bringing to light the continuous global underestimation of Africans, as well as the self-recrimination of Africans", aiming to produce new lines of thought and recover the space for affirming the dignity of women and African men.

Analysts from Angola, Mozambique, Cape Verde and Burundi will participate in the debate, who "were challenged to propose emancipatory, unconventional and non-judgmental ideas", to "discover in the other the reflection of a people that despite being dehumanized, still yearns to be free". .

Among the topics to be addressed are African identities, Africa and its place in the world, an emancipated economic vision and the intersection between contemporaneity and African ancestries.
