According to the Public Television of Angola (TPA), in order to prevent part of the production from ending up spoiling due to market scarcity, they are building an avocado oil processing plant to transform around 500 tons of this fruit.
In addition, another measure involves exports. According to a farm official, in statements to TPA, the company's intentions include exporting more than 1000 tons of avocado trees.
"With this implementation of avocado planting, we intend to export more than 1000 tons of avocado trees," he said.
He also added that they intend to implement an avocado processing factory in the region: "We intend to place an avocado processing factory in the area, from where most of the production in the area will be bought here on the farm and the its processing to make avocado oil. From December we started to take the first ones that grew, after a year, a year and a half we would start to debut", he said, quoted by TPA.
According to TPA, the production of the farm – with more than 1350 hectares, of which 600 are reserved for the production of fruit trees – with avocados, with 50 hectares already cultivated. However, coffee is also another focus of this project, which has a nursery with more than 500 thousand coffee trees.
Cited by TPA, the head of the farm also mentioned that the farm, which provided employment to more than 30 young people, mostly local, "is a major source of employment in the area, as it will generate more than approximately 400 workers".
