Biocom acquires “automatic pilot” to increase the quantity and quality of sugar production

Gerri Vissapa, communication and image manager at Biocom, announced this Tuesday that the company acquired the “automatic pilot” this year, clarifying that this mechanism allowed for greater efficiency in the cultivation of sugarcane.

:

"This year, our bet was on acquiring the automatic pilot which, coupled to a harvester or a planter, increases the quantity and quality of production," explained Gerri Vissapa, quoted by Jornal de Angola.

With this year's harvest reaching around 120 thousand tons of sugar, the company estimates, with this investment, to reach 130 thousand tons next year, highlighted the official.

Speaking on the sidelines of the 36th edition of the Luanda International Fair, the official clarified that the "automatic pilot" collects signals via satellite and, using direction sensors, travels routes already defined in the computer, writes Jornal de Angola.

He also took the opportunity to indicate that, despite the obstacles caused by the pandemic, Biocom managed to maintain the levels of production of sugar, ethanol and alcohol, adding that the company had achieved the goals set for the current financial year.

However, Gerri Vassapa explained that for this it was necessary to adjust to the market reality: "We had to adjust to the market reality, without losing focus, maintaining production levels, which can contribute to the company meeting the needs of the market. market, as sugar is one of the most consumed products and contributes to the diet".
