According to the press release, this year's edition also "presented the 'Personality of Excellence' award to musician Matias Damásio".

"During the Gala, Superbrands Angola also recognized the artist Matias Damásio, with the 'Personality of Excellence' award, for the work he has developed in the world of music, and beyond. In turn, the 'Best Cover' award was given to the Rose Palhares brand", the note reads.

The number of brands distinguished increased compared to the previous edition, as in 2024 Superbrands Angola recognized 43 brands of excellence.

"This year, we have 10 percent more brands distinguished than the last edition, which demonstrates the dynamism of the Angolan market, which means that the demand for quality and more effective communication is constantly increasing within brands. Today, brands understand how important the emotional connection with consumers is", said Pedro Diogo Vaz, Country Manager of Superbrands Angola, adding that, after 15 years in Angola, the Superbrands project "carries weight and credibility built over time".

"The validation that the project brings to brands and, consequently, to end consumers, is also a factor in the search for excellence for brands that display the seal, increasingly as a sign of superior quality and added value", he added.

"The selection of excellent brands is made in an appropriate, independent and transparent manner, through a study carried out among consumers, conducted in partnership with Key Research, and an assessment by the Superbrands Council, composed annually of influential and representative professionals from the sector", Pedro Diogo Vaz also highlighted.

"The theme of this year's edition of Superbrands Angola was national culture and symbols, inspired by the baobab, a tree with great longevity and resistance, which symbolises life, resilience, ancestral wisdom and the connection with spirituality and the past", reads the note.

"Just like the baobab tree, which survives in adverse conditions, Superbrands are resilient, innovative and adaptable, overcoming economic and social challenges. The baobab tree, in an abstract way, symbolizes brands that evolve with time and consumer demands, but that remain committed to their purpose and quality", concluded Pedro Diogo Vaz.
