Supermarkets Nosso Super “go to auction” this month

The auction that will determine the immediate concession of the exploration and management rights of the “Nosso Super” store chain, part of the Privatization Program (Propriv) of the State, is already scheduled for the next Friday, November 19th.

It should be remembered that, since October 28th, the candidacy process for privatization has been underway, and the candidates must present viable proposals for the management of one or more stores. It is not mandatory to submit proposals for the management of the entire supermarket chain.

In a first phase, exploration and management contracts will be signed for a period of five years, with an option to buy afterwards. The privatization will focus on a total of 24 projects, divided between stores and supermarkets, and located in 15 provinces in the country, with emphasis on Luanda, which has eight brand spaces.

The competition is open to national investors "duly qualified for the purpose", who must submit their applications to the IGAPE, from Monday to Friday, from 8:00 am to 3:30 pm.

The privatization of the Nosso Super network is also part of a project of the Executive called "Program for the Restructuring of the System of Logistics and Distribution of Essential Products to the Population", whose main objective is the modernization of the national commercial network, and simultaneously, the creation of new business opportunities.

The Government's Privatization Program has already yielded to the State's coffers more than 455 billion kwanzas, out of the 806 billion foreseen, resulting from the sale of 41 assets. The assets already sold include companies formerly associated with Sonangol, industrial units located in the Luanda-Bengo Special Economic Zone (ZEE) and other leading companies in the country.

Until 2022, Propriv will still privatize 97 assets, according to its schedule. The list includes the state's holdings in banks BAI and Caixa Angola and in construction company Mota Engil. These will be submitted to public tender until the first half of next year.

The privatization processes of the Bank of Commerce and Industry (BCI), the National Insurance Company (ENSA), the Infotur hotel network, the Multitel telecommunications company, the Kero hypermarket network and some units are currently underway. industrial companies of the EEZ.
