João Lourenço in Scotland to discuss climate change at COP26

The President, João Lourenço, will address this Tuesday at the 26th United Nations Conference on Climate Change (COP26), which is taking place in Glasgow, Scotland. The intervention of the head of State, who has been in that country since Sunday, will serve to expose the activities that the country is carrying out in an environmental level.

João Lourenço's speech is scheduled to take place this Tuesday morning.

A note posted on Cipra's Facebook says the President will tell "the world what his strategy is to contribute to the environmental solution".

On Monday, the first day of the conference, João Lourenço held several informal meetings with different world leaders, including Boris Johnson, British prime minister, and Angela Merkel, German chancellor.

Several leaders are present at the event, with emphasis on the presence of the President of the United States of America, Joe Biden, the French President, Emmanuel Macron, the Prime Minister of Canada, Justin Trudeau, the Prince of Monaco, Alberto II, among others.

COP26 aims to discuss and analyze issues related to climate change. The event, which runs until 12 November, takes place a year late, after having been postponed because of covid-19.
