With one win, one draw, and one loss, the national team is in second place in Group A with four points, which would qualify them for the next stage of CHAN 2025.
However, Angola can't yet claim victory, as they must win their final and fourth match. Even then, they will have to await the outcome of the remaining matches in the group, which is currently led by Kenya (seven points).
This Thursday's match is scheduled for 6:00 pm at the Moi International Sports Centre (Kenya) and will be a rematch of the match between Angola and the DRC in the 2016 edition. This time, however, the national team will be looking for a different outcome, as in 2016, the 'Palancas Negras' lost 4-2.
At CHAN 2025, Angola started off on the wrong foot, losing to Morocco (2-0).
After a disappointing debut, Angola faced Kenya, with whom they drew 1-1.
Last Sunday, the national team secured its first victory of CHAN 2025, defeating Zambia 2-1.
Angola is in Group A, which also includes Kenya, Morocco, the Democratic Republic of Congo, and Zambia.
The group is led by Kenya (seven points), followed by Angola (four points), Morocco (three points), the Democratic Republic of Congo (three points), and Zambia (zero points).
In the competition, the national team is looking to improve on its second-place finish in 2011 in Sudan, after losing to Tunisia in the final.
